Gaztelugatxe

San Juan de Gaztelugatxe is an islet joined to the mainland by a stone bridge that zigzags over the sea, between Bakio and Bermeo. Two hundred and forty-one steps climb up to the hermitage, which has watched over the Bay of Biscay since the 10th century; at the top, you ring the bell.
