The Carola Crane, on the Itsasmuseum quay. Red iron raised over the estuary, the last thing left standing from the shipyards that built Bilbao.

Sixty metres. Built in 1957, it was the most powerful crane in Spain; it lifted the ships that made industrial Bilbao great. It is the only one of its era still standing. They say it's called Carola after a woman so beautiful that the whole shipyard stopped work as she walked past.
